Using 3D Printer prints it. (I use Snapmaker 3IN1 3D Printer and use Snapmaker3D Software)

Parament:

  • Materials: PLA
  • Adhesion: Brim
  • Support: None
  • (Stamp2.stl: Touch Buildplate)
  • Mode: High quality

3D Printing Tips:

Adding support:

  • do not add support whenever possible. If you must add support, add support to rectangular surfaces instead of circular surfaces.

Designing model:

  • try not to use overhang structures. If there is an overhang structure, you can divide the model into two parts.

Using 200mW Laser Engraving Module engraved the image.

Parament:

  • Materials: EVA
  • Size: 42 x 42
  • Power: 100%
  • Work speed: 80

Laser Engraving Tips:

Tips for finding the focus:

  • if the laser dot on the material is too large no matter how you move the Z axis, you can use the calibration card provided by Snapmaker or a piece of dark-color paper. (Black will be great. Dark materials absorb light which reveals the correct size of the laser dot, while light materials reflect light.) In this way, you can find the focus more accurately.

Looks very nice!

I have some questions though:

  • for the EVA engraving are you using black and white image? or grayscale?
  • I’m guessing the image have inverted colors (elephant is white in the image), correct?
  • EVA burning probably smells terrible (and toxic), and real proper ventilation is required.

I’ll definitely try to do some stamps for my daughter to play with!

Looks like everything is in the Thingiverse link already! (somehow I assumed that only the 3d models would be in there… )

Sorry for the redundant questions.

  • Black and white images
  • Elephant is white

Now I just have to improve the ventilation on my setup to avoid the fumes to try this out!
